The Pact, the new Eurodac system and the 2026 safe-country list have applied since 12 Jun 2026. The first Solidarity Pool is operational with reference values of 21,000 relocations or €420M. Frontex reported roughly 75,000 irregular crossings in Jan–Aug, about 35% lower year on year.
